The Birth of Flex Fusion Studios

That vision became Flex Fusion Studios nearly a decade ago — a multi-modality center combining yoga, barre, and strength training in a come-as-you-are environment. No need for perfect outfits, no pressure to look a certain way. Just a genuine community where movement meets acceptance. Over the years, it became a trusted hub for transformation, friendship, and resilience.

From Studio Owner to Mentor

When I moved to a new state, I sold the studio but stayed involved as a monthly consultant. That transition allowed me to step fully into my other passion — business coaching for yoga and fitness studio owners.

Helping Owners Build Without Burnout

For more than ten years, I've been working with founders who share the same enthusiasm and challenges I once faced. My role is to help them create systems that turn passion into profitability, without sacrificing their health or personal life. The yoga industry is unique — deeply personal and service-oriented — which makes finding the balance between serving others and supporting yourself absolutely essential.

Lessons I've Learned

Organization is everything. Winging it is like running on a treadmill expecting to get across town. You can’t do it all alone if you want to do it well. Outsource, delegate, and focus on what creates real return. And most importantly, follow your own advice — step onto your own mat, take time for your own well-being, and protect your energy.

My Message to Founders

Your business should enrich your life, not drain it. True service to your community begins with service to yourself. Build with clarity, honor your boundaries, and remember that sustainability is the greatest gift you can give your business.

Business Takeaways from Plan with Purpose

Without direction, hard work keeps you in place. Set clear goals and design the path to reach them.

Leverage Support

Delegation is a sign of strength, not weakness. Build a team and let them help you grow.

Protect Your Energy

Your personal health and joy are non-negotiable. A thriving founder builds a thriving business.

Balance Service and Sustainability

Community care matters, but so does financial stability. Both can exist together if designed intentionally.

Business Takeaways

  • Yoga Business Journey I sold my studio (although I'm still involved every month as a consultant) when we moved to a new state, but I've been a business coach for other studio owners for 10+ years now. My job is to help studio owners who are just like I once was- enthusiastic, passionate, and struggling to figure out how to turn this heart based passion project into a viable business. I love my job because I get to be that person that I desperately needed 10 years ago. I help studio owners learn and build systems that build a business without burnout. Yoga is a tricky industry because it is so personal and -at its core- it's a public service. So how do you balance that service to the community while still paying your own mortgage and grocery bills? That's where I come in. The advice I give studio owners every day is: 1. Get organized. Winging it is like running on a treadmill expecting to get across town. It doesn't matter how fast you run, you're not going anywhere. Invest in a planner (I have one just for studio owners!) or get really familiar with your Google drive, but intentionally plan for the studio and finances you want to have. and 2. You can't do everything alone if you want to do it well. It's impossible to do everything required of small business by yourself 24/7. Outsource, delegate, get a coach, eliminate the things that aren't bringing in a ROI. and 3. Make sure you're following your own advice- get on your own mat to practice at least as often as you teach. My entire job is to support studio owners and help them build a business that pays them back so they actually enjoy their studio longterm. If you're constantly exhausted and running on empty, you won't be able to last.
