Building Namaste House

What started as a single class a week quickly expanded. Within months, I was teaching ten classes across four venues. After years of dreaming and planning, Namaste House opened its doors in 2019. It was a slow, deliberate build—adjusting class times, learning through trial and error, and always staying close to the community.

When the pandemic hit, we adapted. Teaching moved online, systems were upgraded, and our connection with the local community deepened. In 202], with David's support, we launched our first Yoga Teacher Training, including an intensive in Goa. Supporting the Indian yoga community was important to me—it still is.

We've since added a mentorship programme for YTT graduates who align with our values, giving them space to grow within Namaste House. Meanwhile, I've focused on retreats across Europe and India and continued creating both short and long-form YTT programmes. Today, I also work as a Grief and Happiness Coach. But at the heart of it all is yoga. It threads through everything I do.

Lessons I've Learned

Injuries and health challenges taught me to slow down and listen. They helped me understand that yoga isn't about performance—it's a healing art that embraces philosophy, rest, and restoration.

My first YTT wasn't meant to launch a career. I signed up to reconnect with myself, but as it turned out, teaching was exactly where I belonged. I teach from experience, not trend. What's popular never mattered to me. What's true does.

Through it all, I've learned patience. I've learned to live in alignment. And I've learned that when you step into your true path, it feels like walking through an open door.

My Message to Founders

Keep learning. Keep showing up.

Don't let trends rush you off track. Boundaries matter. So does resilience. Build something grounded in what's real, not what's trending.

Your practice and your business both deserve that.

Business Takeaways

  • How did you scale your yoga business I grew the business gradually, starting with a soft launch by moving my classes into our new studio space. From there, it was a process of trial and error — adjusting class times, adding new sessions, and discovering those sweet spots through experience. We were building strong momentum when the pandemic hit. Deep breaths, faith, and the kindness of an understanding landlord carried us through. In fact, it deepened our connection with the local community. I pivoted to teaching online and built a more robust booking system to support the shift. With David’s support, we launched our first YTT in 2021, including an intensive in Goa. It was important to me to honour and support my Indian Yoga Community. We also created a mentorship programme for our YTT graduates who share our values and vision, offering them opportunities to teach at Namaste House. This has allowed me to focus more on leading retreats with David and expanding our yogic reach. I’ve become a firm believer in studying the analytics, understanding who our students are, and consistently delivering a high standard of service with care and reliability.
  • What have you learned — as a person and a business owner Although I had a fulfilling career before becoming a yoga teacher and founder, when I stepped into this role, something just clicked — it felt like I was walking through an open door. I’ve learned resilience and patience, and above all, the importance of living in alignment with who I truly am.
