From Personal Healing to Community Impact
After college, Becca leaned into Power Yoga and began her first teacher training in 2008. Though she didn't finish that one, the calling didn’t fade. In 2012, she completed her 200-hour Power Yoga Teacher Training at West Hartford Yoga and began focusing on kids. Inspired to support children of all abilities, she trained with leaders like Jodi Komitor and Sonia Sumar. As a new mother, she brought mindfulness and movement into preschools, planting the seeds for what would become The Yoga Patch, LLC.
In recent years, Becca's teaching has grown to include adults and Yoga Sculpt, and she’s now pursuing her Peak Pilates Level 1 certification. Her signature class, Pliyoga Sculpt, combines yoga postures, cardio, strength, and Pilates into one powerful practice. It's everything she loves—mindful, energizing, and accessible.
Building The Yoga Patch
Though she had been teaching for years, 2024 was the year Becca officially launched The Yoga Patch, LLC. Instead of opening a studio, she took a mobile approach—offering yoga and mindfulness directly to schools, preschools, partner locations, and private clients. The flexibility of this model has helped her meet people where they are, both literally and energetically.
She teaches weekly in early childhood centers, leads adult classes in local studios, and has grown her reach steadily through relationships, referrals, and showing up authentically. Her PliYyoga Sculpt class has helped her stand out in a crowded space, offering a full-body experience and now She's offering yoga on the WeGym Fit App!
Lessons I've Learned
Success in yoga isn't about numbers. It's about connection. I've learned to lean into creativity, show up as myself, and protect my energy. Sustainability matters. So does community. Whether it's teaching a toddler how to breathe through big feelings or helping an adult reconnect with their strength, the work is the same: create space for people to feel seen and supported.
My Message to Founders
Stop waiting for perfect. Start now.
Teach if you feel called. Build what you wish existed.
Let your work evolve with you. There's space for your story. Your unique voice can't be duplicated, don't hold it back waiting for things to feel ready.

Business Takeaways
- Yoga Business Journey Tell us how you got started. While I had been teaching yoga in local schools and studios for several years, it wasn’t until 2024 that I officially launched The Yoga Patch, LLC. After four years of growing relationships with schools and clients, I felt called to take the next step—creating contracts, formalizing my offerings, and treating my passion like the business it was becoming. Starting my LLC gave me the structure and confidence to expand in a sustainable way. Even though I don’t have a brick-and-mortar studio (yet!), I operate as a mobile yoga studio—bringing yoga, mindfulness, and movement directly to schools, private clients, and partner locations. This model has allowed me to stay flexible while meeting my community exactly where they are.
- How did you scale your yoga business Today, I offer weekly classes in early childhood centers and teach adult yoga and Yoga Sculpt at local studios in West Hartford. My business has grown organically through consistency, community engagement, and by showing up authentically in every space I teach. Most recently, I launched my signature format, PliYoga Sculpt—a powerful blend of traditional yoga postures, strength training, cardio bursts, and Pilates-based movement. It’s been a hit with students who are looking for a full-body workout that’s both mindful and empowering. This offering has allowed me to stand out in a saturated space and has become a cornerstone of my teaching.
- What have you learned — as a person and as a business owner I’ve learned that success in this field isn’t about having the most followers or fanciest studio—it’s about connection, creativity, and community. Thinking outside the box is essential. So is networking—sometimes your next student, opportunity, or collaboration comes from the most unexpected place. I’ve also learned that sustainability matters. As a business owner and mom, protecting my energy and honoring my own rhythms has been key to longevity and joy in this work.
